IVF Without Losing Yourself
A live workshop for managing the waiting, what-ifs, and emotional overwhelm of IVF.
IVF has a way of expanding until it fills every quiet moment: the two-week wait, the results call, the announcement you did not see coming. This workshop is for women who want treatment to be one part of their life rather than all of it, and who want emotional support during IVF that goes further than being told not to think about it.
When IVF starts taking up more than your calendar
It begins with the schedule: monitoring appointments, medication times, the retrieval, the transfer. Then it moves into everything else. You check the clinic portal before you are fully awake. You reread the same forum thread, looking for a version of your numbers that ended well. You catch yourself rehearsing bad news so it will hurt less if it comes.
Somewhere in there, the rest of life gets postponed. You skip the trip, the class, the dinner, because what if. You scroll past another announcement and feel something you would rather not name. Someone mentions a friend who got pregnant after cutting out sugar, and you quietly wonder what you did wrong. Your mother asks for an update and you cannot tell whether to give her the truth or protect her from it. Your partner is coping differently than you are, and neither of you knows whether that is a problem. Everything, somehow, now routes through the treatment. This is what IVF anxiety looks like from the inside, and it is what the workshop is built around.
Four things you can actually do something about
Manage the What-Ifs
Catch the forecasting early, before one thought becomes the whole afternoon.
Survive the Waiting
The two-week wait is where IVF waiting anxiety peaks. Walk into the next one with a plan already in place, instead of improvising your way through it.
Protect Your Life From Becoming Only IVF
Keep the parts of your life that matter on the calendar, whatever this cycle brings.
Decide Who Gets Access
Decide what you share, with whom, and how often, and stop owing everyone an update.
The IVF Emotional Survival Plan
A written plan for your current or next cycle, built during the session with guidance, not assigned as homework. You leave knowing how to cope with IVF in the moments that undo you most, with your own IVF Emotional Survival Plan, including:
- A plan for difficult waiting periods
- A strategy for recognizing and interrupting spirals
- Social media and trigger boundaries
- A plan for family and relationship communication
- A personalized support map
- A plan for difficult-news days
The method for completing each part is taught in the session.

Dr. Burnett is a Doctor of Social Work and Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Her practice, Burnett Clinical Group, works with women managing anxiety, uncertainty, relationships, and life transitions, including the emotional weight of fertility treatment.

Before you reserve
Is this therapy?
No. This is a psychoeducational workshop: IVF mental health support delivered as education and practical strategies, taught to a group. It is not psychotherapy, medical treatment, or individualized advice, and it does not create a therapist-client relationship. If you are looking for individual clinical care, that is a separate conversation and you are welcome to start it.
Do I need to currently be in an IVF cycle?
No. Women preparing for a first cycle often get the most from this IVF workshop, because the plan is built before the waiting starts.
What if I am between cycles?
Between cycles is one of the harder stretches, and IVF support after a failed cycle is one of the least talked about needs. The material applies directly, including the difficult-news plan and the question of what comes next.
What if I am undergoing fertility treatment other than IVF?
Fertility treatment anxiety is not specific to one protocol. The waiting, the what-ifs, and the way treatment takes over a life apply just as much to IUI, egg freezing, and other forms of treatment, and so does the workshop.
What is the refund and cancellation policy?
Full refund if you cancel at least 48 hours before the session. Within 48 hours, your payment converts to credit toward a future date, since a held seat cannot be resold on short notice. If you miss the session without notice, the payment is not refunded but you still receive the recording of the educational portion. If I cancel or reschedule, you receive a full refund or a transfer to the new date, your choice. Full details are in the workshop policies.
Will the session be recorded?
Yes. The educational portion of the workshop will be recorded and made available to registered participants. Participant discussion and Q&A will not be included in the replay.
IVF may be part of your life right now. It does not have to become all of it.
IVF support for women who want to keep living while treatment is still unresolved. One live session, Saturday, October 3.
