Clinical work
Dr. Burnett is a doctorate-level licensed clinical social worker in clinical practice since 2008, with nearly two decades across direct care, behavioral health leadership, and graduate social work education. Her practice, Burnett Clinical Group, works with accomplished women who are managing anxiety, overthinking, burnout, relationship strain, and life transitions, and who are often the person everyone else relies on.
The practice is founder-led and growing deliberately. Every clinician who joins is selected by Dr. Burnett, supervised by her, and part of the weekly case consultation she leads, so the standard of care does not change with the practice’s size. Her sessions are structured, direct, and grounded in evidence-based approaches; the goal is focused work with a destination, not open-ended talk.
Fertility treatment, from both chairs
Emotional support during fertility treatment is a specialty of the practice and an area Dr. Burnett sees personally. After experiencing IUI, IVF, and pregnancy loss herself, she built the kind of practical emotional support she wished had been available alongside treatment: individual fertility therapy for women in California, and IVF Without Losing Yourself, a live psychoeducational workshop open to women in any state. She is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine.
Her clinical position on fertility is simple: treatment is medical care that belongs with your reproductive team, and what happens to your mind while you wait, decide, and grieve is separate work that deserves its own attention. IVF can be an important part of your life without becoming your entire identity.
Teaching and supervision
Dr. Burnett teaches graduate social work courses and provides BBS-qualified clinical supervision to associate clinicians working toward licensure in California, both within the practice and through individual and group supervision. She writes for clients and colleagues alike: the articles on this site are hers, and each one is signed.
